 What is Orientation?

Orientation can be defined as the planned introduction of new employees to their jobs, their colleagues, management and the organization. Also called orientation induction. It is designed to provide new employees with the information they need to work efficiently and effectively in the organization.


Orientation can be informal, where employees are introduced to colleagues as they do their jobs, or it can be formal and structured, lasting anywhere from a week to several month.(Dipayan, 2023)
