What is the Difference Between Recruitment and Selection?
Recruitment refers to the process of finding potential candidates and then encouraging them to apply for an actual or anticipated vacancy. Selection is the process of recruiting employees from shortlisted candidates and assigning them jobs in the organisation. (Hr professional,Leaders , 2020)
What is Recruitment?
Recruitment is the process of selecting people in an organization. It covers a series of tasks starting from the search and analysis of prospective employees to the appointment of the employee. Specific tasks involved in the recruitment process include.
- Analysing job requirements
- Advertisement for vacancy
- Attracts candidates to apply for the job
- Response Management
- Examination of applications
- Short list candidates
Recruiting activities are usually performed internally or externally by HR professionals. Internal sources of employment are promotions, transfers, fired employees, contacts or referrals, former employees, retired employees, etc. External sources of recruitment Recruitment through advertisement, campus recruitment, recruitment through employee exchange, third party recruitment, online cancellation of recruitment etc.(Hr professional,Leaders , 2020)
What is Selection?
Selection is the process of identifying a person from a pool of job applicants who have the necessary qualifications and skills to fill positions in the organisation.

- Taking a test (aptitude test, intelligence test, performance test, personality test etc.)

- Reference checking

Selection is the process of choosing the most suitable candidate for an existing or future position from candidates internal or external to the organisation.(Singh, 2022)
Selecting the candidates for a suitable job is not an easy task as it is very difficult to select the candidates and fill the most important vacancies for the company. Because wrong selection of employees affects the organization of the organization badly.(Singh, 2022)
Finding the best candidate for vacant jobs. Through the selection process, suitable employees and less qualified ones are identified.(Singh, 2022)

We have many divisions in the hospitality industries, it is good that you include the head of the department so that he can rest the right candidate for the department, we have observed that many successful HR departments know the importance of recruitment. Processing and identifying a candidate who fits both the position and the organisation's work environment, selection refers to the process of determining the best candidate from a pool of applicants and references.
